Overview
NSIC Registration refers to registration of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises with the National Small Industries Corporation, a Government of India enterprise operating under the Ministry of MSME. The objective of NSIC registration is to promote the growth of small businesses by facilitating government procurement, marketing support and financial assistance. It enables MSMEs to participate in tenders floated by central and state government departments and public sector undertakings.
NSIC registration is granted under the Single Point Registration Scheme. This scheme allows registered MSMEs to avail benefits such as exemption from earnest money deposit and waiver of tender document fees while participating in government tenders. The registration also provides preference in procurement policies where MSMEs receive price and quantity advantages. Both manufacturers and service providers registered as MSMEs are eligible to apply.
Although NSIC registration is not mandatory, it is extremely beneficial for businesses that regularly deal with government tenders. It enhances business credibility and increases visibility among government buyers. NSIC also supports registered enterprises through marketing assistance, technology support, raw material assistance and facilitation of credit through banks and financial institutions. The registration is issued for a limited period and must be renewed to continue availing benefits.
